I awoke this morning to find my body shattered on my bed,
Having just awoken from the nightmare pounding in my head.
The pierce of your voice as you told me to get away,
And my cries, full of nothing I could say.
As I lay there in shambles, reliving every tear,
I had to think of what was real and what would cause that fear.
The sunlight burst through the branches of the trees,
And flooded my eyes with dancing leaves,
And I remembered 'twas a dream
and nothing really more.
And for what felt like the first time, I lifted my arm,
Pulling my unbroken body up and aloft.
I strolled to the bathroom and pulled out my brush,
